The dates

  • Black Friday: Friday 27 November 2026, the day after US Thanksgiving (26 November).
  • Cyber Monday: Monday 30 November 2026.

How they differ now

Cyber Monday started in the US as the online follow-up to in-store Black Friday shopping. Today, in the US and in most other countries, sales run online across the whole week and often start in mid-November, so the two days overlap a lot. Cyber Monday is often when retailers extend or refresh their offers rather than launch completely new ones. Adobe Analytics' 2026 US forecast also expects the deepest advertised discounts on electronics and computers around Cyber Monday, while Black Friday is tipped as stronger for TVs, toys, apparel, appliances and furniture.

Should you wait?

In the UK, consumer group Which? found that 68% of the products it tracked were the same price or cheaper after the sales period. So if a price on Black Friday isn't convincing, there's usually little risk in waiting until Monday or beyond. The exception is limited-stock items such as console bundles, which can sell out.
